Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’re interested in family care or advanced smile rehabilitation, it’s likely that you have questions about what you can expect when you visit Vollo Dental Group. Our team is always happy to provide plenty of answers, and you can find many of them below. If you still don’t see the information you’re looking for, please contact us directly here in Rochester, NY! We want you to feel confident about choosing us as your new dental practice.

What happened to the Drs. Groves?

After 26 years of dedicated service to people from all over Rochester and the surrounding areas, Dr. Cynthia Groves and Dr. Gary Groves have chosen to retire. They selected Dr. Joseph Vollo and Dr. Katherine Vollo to continue their proud tradition of patient-focused dental care, and we hope you’ll warmly welcome them as they strive to fill the big shoes left here and maintain the wonderful heart and soul of the practice.

Will my treatment hurt?

Dr. Joseph and Dr. Katherine Vollo strongly believe that controlling pain is an essential part of their services to you. There are many options available today for reducing or eliminating pain; the doctors will work with you to find the one that will keep you comfortable during your treatments.

How much will my treatment cost?

Many of our patients have told us that what upsets them most about dental care is not knowing up front what their financial obligations will be. Our pledge to you is that we will let you know in advance the costs of any and all treatments so that you can make decisions about what is appropriate and affordable for you.

How much does my insurance cover?

Because we want to provide you with the best possible dental treatment, we don’t decide what work you need based on what your insurance will pay. We will try to let you know in advance how much your insurance will pay towards your dental treatment and how much will be your responsibility.

What payment options do you provide?

You can pay for your dental treatments with cash, check or credit cards. We also have some extended payment plans available through CareCredit.

Apply for CareCredit

As a courtesy, our office will submit the appropriate paperwork to your insurance company. You will be responsible for deductibles and co-payments not covered by your insurance.

Why are dental implants a great choice for tooth replacement?

Dental implants actually rebuild the entire structure of a tooth from the ground up. This includes a new, functioning root, which is well-hidden under the gum tissue and provides essential stimulation to the jawbone. As a result, patients who replace missing teeth with dental implants can look forward to better oral health results, increased durability, and incredible longevity.

At Vollo Dental Group, we’re happy to offer comprehensive implant services right here in-office! That means that we can perform every stage of treatment for you without involving outside specialists, including surgery. Please let us know if you’d be interested in undergoing a consultation.

At what age should my child first see the dentist?

Dr. Joseph and Katherine Vollo like to see children for their first dental visit within 6 months after the first baby tooth appears or around age 1. If you have a concern about your children’s dental health before they reach that age, please let us know.

What kinds of pediatric services do you offer?

We offer many services that can make a big difference for your loved one’s growing smile, including dental sealants, fluoride treatment, oral appliances, fillings, and more. Our doctors will always personalize their approach and the services they recommend so that everything is a good fit for the child’s current age and emotional maturity. We look forward to helping them form a positive relationship with dental care from an early age!

What do I do if I have a dental emergency?
